Our aim is to ensure your Hunter Valley Cheese Factory visit is fun and educational. If we can have our visitors leave with long lasting food loving memories of their time we will have a smile on our faces.
Cheese Sampling (groups of under 10 visiting)
Hunter Valley Cheese sampling guided by our trained Cheese Specialists is available all day from 9am to 5.30pm. Handmade cow and goat milk cheese produced & available onsite include fromage blanc, feta, brie, washed rind, natural rind, cheddar, tommes and blue vein.
Our Cheese Tasting Boards are $6.95 per person and include at least five cheeses, fruit paste, bread crackers and table water. Daily Cheese Tasting Notes are prepared, allowing you to get as intellectual as you desire as you explore the flavour of our cheese. Recommendations of what to look for eg. aroma, flavour and texture are provided - don't worry we won't score your tasting notes but we guarantee you will leave us knowing much more about our world of cheese.
If you would prefer a more instructional seated tasting, you can learn about cheese varieties, wine matching, cheese care at home then our Private Cheese Appreciation Tasting ($17.50 per person) would be for you. This tutorial tasting can be fun and educational and a great way to relax with a glass of wine or beverage in between cellar door visits.
Factory Viewing & Cheesemaking Tutorial
Once you have tasted our artisan handmade cheese why not learn a little about the cheesemaking process by attending our complimentary Cheesemaking Tutorial (in front of our factory viewing windows). Held twice daily at 11am & 3pm attendance will enlighten on the transformation of regional milk to regional cheese, step into the "life" of a cheese maker. A question and answer session is provided free of charge on completion of the Tutorial .
