Are We There Yet?

May 23 Are We There Yet?

Over the past year, students from Cessnock East Public School have been working hard alongside local community partners to develop a special guide for the Hunter Valley.

The 35 page a book titled ‘Are we there yet? A trip around the Hunter’ is a one of a kind guide to tourist activities, researched and created by year five and six students.

The guide aims to assist families in getting the most out of what the Hunter Valley has to offer.

After receiving an information session from the staff at the Hunter Valley Visitors Centre, students went out to research a range of attractions and activities now featured in the guide.

Working closely with Council staff, parents, local tourism associations and businesses; students have had a fantastic opportunity to explore and connect with our rich local culture, said Cessnock City Council Mayor, Bob Pynsent.

“The project is a great example of how collaborative projects can enrich our young people’s schooling experience”, said Councillor Pynsent.

“I would like to highly commend East Cessnock Public School staff for this fresh and innovation approach to learning, which really is a celebration of this wonderful region we live in”.

This fantastic guide is available for purchase for $5.
