Cessnock Performing Arts Celebrates 10 Years

Jan 30 Cessnock Performing Arts Celebrates 10 Years

Global sensation The Diamonds didn't disappoint at CPAC's 10th anniversary opening night on February 9th. From the creators of international hit show Boys in the Band these ladies were a big hit and definitely brought plenty of sparkle to mark such an auspicious occasion.

This year’s season continues our commitment to presenting a rich variety of professional performances that are diverse, passionate, smart, fun and at times, controversial – a year of great entertainment that is dramatic, funny, thoughtful, entertaining and affordable.

Our primary goal is encouraging new audiences and sharing the excitement of live performance. 2018 is a big bold year with some great pieces of Australian drama such as; Thomas Murray and the Upside Down River, Jane Harrison’s Stolen, the return of Todd McKenney along with Nancye Hayes for a night of music and mayhem in Bosom Buddies, a fantastic R&B Band, B2M, from the Tiwi Islands and of course lots of humour from the Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow just to mention a smattering of what’s on offer.  Add to this some great performances coming in from our commercial producers such as James Reyne and Doug Parkinson.

We are continually looking at performance experiences that incorporate as much of the local community as possible by programming a variety of cultural expressions, entertainment and free family events, on behalf of Council, such as Spring Awakening, Carols in the Park and Australia Day. It’s great to see our events growing every year.

Our program, available from the box office or online at www.cessnockperformingartscentre.com, is your guide to scintillating world-class performances but remember to always check the website as new shows are being added all through the year.
