The Winecountry Art Trail Group Exhibition is currently on display at the Hunter Valley Visitor Centre, Wine Country Drive, Pokolbin until 9 November 2014.
The exhibition was officially opened at an evening launch event on 24 October 2014 by Cessnock Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent.
“It’s a great way to showcase our local artistic talent, something we are proudly known for,” Cr Pynsent said.
“With the Hunter Valley as a picturesque backdrop, our local artists are certainly never short of inspiration.”
Artwork on display for purchase includes paintings, prints and jewellery, all of which have been created by local talented artists.
Well-known local Aboriginal elder, Uncle Les Elvin, is among the local artists with works on display.
Uncle Les’s art has already been recognised by a Sydney buyer, who happened to be passing through and snapped up one of the rare and wonderful works on display on a weekend visit to the area.
“It’s a nice thought that someone has taken a little piece of the Hunter Valley home with them to keep forever,” Cr Pynsent said.
Be sure to visit the Visitor Information Centre display before 9 November 2014.
